Korean Drama OST: You’re Beautiful OST. You’re Beautiful original sound track album soars with nearly 20,000 copies sold in the first week. OST of SBS idol drama, “You’re Beautiful” has created a sensation in the music market. The Korean drama You’re Beautiful OST album sales have reached nearly 20,000 within 7 days upon its release on 14 October 2009. The production company of the OST said, “You’re Beautiful OST, unveiled on 14th, has sold 15,000 copies until on 22nd. The album has been sold consistently even now so that it will pass the 20,000 mark in days.”
The OST album placed 1st on the first day of the release in the Hanteo Chart, which lists album sales in real time. And in the first place, it received good response as a music source as shown in the case of various music portal sites such as Melon, Dosirak, and Mnet.com where the album ranked in the upper half. Given that it is difficult for an OST album to be sold over 10,000 copies, the Korean drama You’re Beautiful OST deserves kudos. The popularity of the drama has contributed to the strong sales of the OST. Its viewer rating is modest.
However, the drama, which is popular among the manias, won the hearts of viewers with its well-made storylines and music. In addition, behind the popularity there are songs by the idol group in the drama, A.N. JELL, consisting of Jang Geun-seok, Park Sin-hye, Lee Hong-gi, Jeong Yong-hwa and Oh Won-bin, an ex-member of FT Island. The OST features 11 tracks, including two versions of “Still” and “Promise” by A.N. JELL and Lee Hong-gi and ‘Lovely Day’ by Park Sin-hye as well as “Coming down from the Sky” by Oh Won-bin. Han Sung-ho also contributed to this album. He worked on Korean dramas such as “Lovers”, “On Air” and “Brilliant Legacy” as a songwriter and producer.

Korea’s newest boy band A.N.JELL has arrived… on television! The highly anticipated SBS idol drama You’re Beautiful takes audiences behind the fame and glamor of a superstar pop group, following their backstage trials, dorm drama, friendship, romance, and unstoppable rise to fame. Jang Geun Suk (Beethoven Virus), who’s moonlighted as a singer for movies and CMs, plays the bristly lead singer of idol band A.N.JELL. The other members are, fittingly, FTIsland’s Lee Hong Gi, who plays the band’s cheerful British-Korean drummer, and Jung Yong Hwa from rookie band C.N. Blue. Starlet Park Shin Hye (Palace S) gender bends as the newest member of A.N.JELL, an aspiring nun who steps in for her twin brother, and turns the band upside down! Written by the Hong Sisters (My Girl, Hong Gil Dong), You’re Beautiful also co-stars After School’s UEE (Queen Seon Duk), Jung Chan, and Kim In Kwon (Surgeon Bong Dal Hee).
A.N.JELL may be a fictional band, but their songs are plenty real and two of them, “Still” (Track 8) and “Promise” (Track 9), are featured in the drama’s soundtrack. FTIsland’s version of “Still” (Track 1) plus Lee Hong Gi and Jung Yong Hwa’s version of “Promise” are also included, along with two solos from Park Shin Hye and a duet by Miss $ and former FTIsland member Won Bin! Songwriter Han Sung Ho, who has contributed to the soundtracks of hit K-dramas like Lovers and Brilliant Legacy, and producer Park Se Joon teamed up to produce the 11-track You’re Beautiful OST.
